opening knight

it's finally friday!  we woke up to another cold morning (although not as cold as yesterday -27!  colder than the north pole)

i've been looking at snow for the past 2 weeks.  while it is beautiful, i'm ready to see some green! these snowflakes have been hanging out on my bedroom window for days... every morning i see them and think i should take a picture before they disappear, and today i finally did!

we spent the morning cleaning the house because 1) it was nasty, and 2) grandma was on her way to see us!  she drove over from edmond just to see the boys' play.  so sweet.

after cleaning, we took a little break.  i worked on a puzzle called 100 elephants and a mouse.

spencer and smudge were napping under my feet!

ginormous icicle!
a couple of seconds after i took a picture of this icicle, i got the snot scared out of me!  i had cracked the side door enough to get my camera out there, and as soon as i snapped the picture i looked down.  something brown and furry was running straight for the door!!!  no joke!  i'm not making this up!  i screamed like a little girl and slammed the door just before the critter got in the house!  it turns out it was just a little bunny, but i had visions of a psycho rabbit being chased by smudge and there being bloodshed on the white carpet!

so after my heart rate came back down to normal, i felt bad that i had screamed at the little bunny.  i'm sure he was just out there looking for something to eat under all that snow.  i got him some celery and carrots and tossed them out into the snow... sort of a peace offering.  he eventually came back and ate the food.  i put out some more yesterday, and he (or something) ate that too!  how exciting to think about having a little pet bunny!

well after missing a rehearsal and canceling their friday matinee performance, the boys finally got to perform king arthur's quest friday night.  it was a great production, and i was so proud of ALL the kids! it's amazing what they can do in just a week!

colby woke up friday morning with a sore throat, but he promised that he felt ok.  i gave him tylenol when he left at 3:00 to help ease the sore throat pain.  when he came out on stage, i KNEW he was sick. he was living proof that the show must go on!  poor little guy...
